Sennheiser: The fourth factory in the world is being built in Brasov, Romania

By Emea Riga
The German company Sennheiser, one of the world's largest audio equipment manufacturers, will build a factory in Braşov. The new facility will initially produce electronic products for the general public. Completion of the construction is scheduled for this year.
It will be the company's fourth factory, after Germany, Ireland and the United States.
"For many years, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) has been the region that has made the most of our growth. With our new factory in Romania, we have a third European production base and, at the same time, we are expanding our distribution network in Europe. These actions give us better control over production volumes, but also the ability to be more flexible in adapting our products to dynamic market demands, "said Andreas Sennheiser, Co-CEO at Sennheiser, in a statement. The new production base in Braşov will provide Sennheiser with "more flexibility to meet market demand".
The Sennheiser plant in Romania will be located in Industrial Park Braşov.
As an industrial and university center, Braşov offers an excellent business environment for the new factory, the company said in a statement.
"One of the main reasons we chose Brasov is infrastructure, then very good connection with the European economic area," said Daniel Sennheiser, Co-CEO at Sennheiser. "We look forward to working with Industrial Park Braşov (IPB). As an important partner, IPB will play a key role in ensuring the high quality standards we have for manufacturing our products. "
The new factory will focus on producing electronics for the general public.
"We are delighted to receive Sennheiser soon in the dynamic community of international organizations in Brasov," said Călin Costan, the owner of the ICCO Group of Companies (Industrial Park Braşov). "The Sennheiser family business is recognized worldwide for both its innovations and the creation of high quality products."
"To improve the exchange of experience, we intend to intensify the relationship between the four Sennheiser factories," says Andreas Sennheiser. While the factory in Tullamore, Ireland, mainly produces studio monitors and acoustic transducers, its headquarters in Wedemark are focused on premium and professional products, including wireless microphones. Microphones for American and Asian markets are produced at the Albuquerque plant in the United States.
In total, Sennheiser works with 20 sales subsidiaries and trading partners in more than 50 countries around the world. Five innovation centers use research and development processes to improve the innovative power of audio professionals.
Founded in 1945, Sennheiser is one of the world's leading manufacturers of audio headphones, microphones and wireless transmission systems. The company has approximately 2,800 employees. The company is headed, starting in 2013, by Daniel and Andreas Sennheiser, members of the third generation of the founding family.
In 2016, the last fiscal year ended, Sennheiser had sales of 658.4 million euros.
