More than 11,000 Ford Ecosport cars came out on the Craiova plant in January, the best ever recorded ever.
According to the Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Importers (APIA), the increase in the first month of this year was over 200% compared to the same period last year when the old B-Max production was in production.
The production volume in Craiova highlights an average cadence of over 500 cars, a cadence that started in January at 500 and ended at 600. Moreover, both in January and February, the plant also produced the weekend to handle orders.
If Ford keeps production by the end of the year, at least 130,000 cars worth 2 billion euros will be produced in Craiova this year. If this value adds the engines produced, Ford could end the year as Romania's second largest exporter after Dacia.
In the first four months of production, the Ecosport has reached a total of 20,000 cars, most of which are assembled in January.
Ford Ecosport was second in the hierarchy of cars produced in Romania in January. The first place was the new Duster, with nearly 18,000 units.
In total, the two major manufacturers, Dacia and Ford, with the five models, will be able to approach the 500,000 assembled car in 2018, of which 350,000 will be assembled in Mioveni and 130,000 in Craiova.
