Romania will have, for the first time in history, prime minister a woman

The Romanian President agreed with the Social Democratic Party-PSD proposal and appointed Mrs. Viorica Dancila as Prime Minister of Romania. It is the first time in the history of Romania when a woman will lead the government of the country.
Viorica Dancila is 53 years old and nine years old is MEP. She has been a PSD member since 1996, being in turn a local councilor, president of the PSD Women's Organization, MEP.
Viorica Dancila graduated from Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti in 1988. In 2006, she graduated from a master's degree in Political Sciences. She specializes in Project Programming and Management of the Petroleum Economy and Decision-Making, an Expert in Legislative Harmonization - European Integration.
In the European Parliament, she is in the second term since 2009. Viorica Dancila was a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries and the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean. Activates within the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.
The investment vote of Prime Minister and Government headed by Viorica Dancila will take place on January 29th.
The Social Democratic Party (PSD), alongside the Liberal Democratic Alliance (ALDE), holds the majority in the Bucharest Parliament.
