By Emea Riga

The representatives of Cummins Generator Technologies Romania notified local authorities in Craiova, Dolj County, Romania, of the decision of the US Industrial Holding's management to move its production facilities to the United Kingdom after the United Kingdom left the European Union.
The American Group already has a production unit in Craiova, established in 1999, operating in the former Electroputere locomotive.
The Mayor of Craiova, Mihail Genoiu, confirmed that there is an official announcement of the company to the municipality of Craiova about the intention to relocate production in the UK.
"We received official information from Cummins that it was approved to move factories from the UK to Craiova. With Brexit, everything that means Cummins UK moves into Craiova. That means things are moving in Craiova, there is interest... "said Mihail Genoiu, Mayor of Craiova, according to Freedom.
He also said that the representatives of the Craiova power plant are in talks with the leaders of the company in England in order to determine the details of the move of production from the British territory to Romania.

According to the financial statement submitted to the Ministry of Finance for the year 2016, over 570 people work in the factory, and last year there was a profit of 39.2 million lei.
Cummins Generator Technologies established itself in Craiova in 1999 and has since become an integral element of Cummins’ global engineering and manufacturing capability. Craiova was selected as a strategic growth location to manufacture 600 kVA to 7,000 kVA STAMFORD® and AvK® AC generators and components, now producing in excess of 800 AC generators per year, employing more than 700 employees as a result. Cummins identified Craiova for its design and manufacturing operations due to its central European location, excellent links with local universities and the collaboration between the UK embassy in Bucharest and the Romanian government.
