Total value of arrears granted in lei to both the population and companies, as recorded in November 2017, accounted for 5.46 billion lei, down 0.84 per cent compared with October 2017, while arrears for loans granted in foreign currency decreased by 9.47 per cent, down to 6.25 billion lei (equivalent), according to a report of the National Bank of Romania (NBR).
The total value of loans granted in lei reached 145.89 billion lei in November (showing an increase of 1.35 per cent compared with the value recorded in the previous month), out of which 63.32 billion lei represented amounts contracted by economic operators and 79.5 billion lei amounts contracted by the population.
Loans granted in foreign currency totalled 92.484 billion in lei equivalent in November 2017 (by 0.09 more compared with October 2017), out of which 47.10 billion lei are loans contracted by the economic operators and 42.25 billion lei are loans contracted by the population.
Bucharesters had arrears worth 1.7 billion lei for loans granted in lei, in end-November this year, and worth 2.8 billion lei (equivalent) for loans granted in foreign currency.
Total value of loans granted in lei in the capital city reached 51.63 billion lei, while loans granted in foreign currency reached 44.63 billion lei.
