The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Romania in March 2018 was 4.5%, down by 0.1 percentage points versus the previous month (4.6%), according to data released Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The estimated number of unemployed (aged 15-74) in March 2018 was 415,000, down from the previous month (419,000 people) and also from the same month of the previous year (472,000 people).
Depending on gender, the male unemployment rate exceeded the unemployment rate by 0.8 percentage points, from 4.9 percent to 4.1 percent.
The estimated rate of adult unemployment in March 2018 (25-74 years) was 3.4% (3.8% for men and 2.8% for women). The unemployed aged between 25 and 74 accounted for 69% of the total number of unemployed estimated for March 2018.
Unemployment rate is the share of the unemployed in the economically active population.
