The National Prognosis Commission (CNP) revised downwards to 4.5% growth estimates this year, from 5.5% as predicted in July in the summer interim release.
Also in decreasing (by 0.2 percentage points) the CNP revised its estimate for 2019, at 5.5%, from 5.7%, as forecast in the previous version. For the next three years, the Gross Domestic Product outturn figures remained unchanged at 5.7% in 2020 and 5% in 2021 and 2022.

Romania's trade deficit increased in the first eight months of the year by 1.105 billion euros compared to the same period of 2017, reaching 8.978 billion euros, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), published on Wednesday.
